GETTING THE UPPER AND LOWER CASES RIGHT IN VALDOCS 1.1X One of the more infuriating setbacks to Valdocs 1.1x is when the upper and lower cases get reversed. It is easy to fix, but the fix depends upon which version of Valdocs 1.1x you have. If you find that the fix does not work the first time, put the SHIFT LOCK on and try it again. Also, you may have to reboot the QX to get the change to take effect. ASSUMPTIONS: For both fixes we assume that you know which version of Valdocs 1.1x you are using and that you are starting from the Editor. For Valdocs 1.16 and Valdocs 1.18 1. Input CTRL-STYLE. This is done by holding down the CTRL key and typing the STYLE key. For Valdocs 1.19 1. Press MENU. 2. Select enu of Applications. 3. Select EFT Drive. 4. Select SETUP.SYS. 5. Since there are no commands or parameters needed for SETUP, press RETURN again. 6. Once in the SETUP program select erminal Type. 7. Select hiftlock key treated as. 8. Press UNDO until you return to the Editor. Like many other features in Valdocs 1.1x the Alpha/Shift Lock status is recorded in the CMOS clock RAM. If after trying this procedure several times, you find that you cannot correct the case setting, you will need to refer to the section "Resetting the CMOS Clock RAM for Valdocs" to do a CMOS reset. This will insure that all CMOS values are set to their default values and that Valdocs 1.1x will load correctly with the SHIFT LOCK off.
